The company " Zarubezhstroytehnologiya " ( FTA ), " daughter" of Railways for the implementation of international projects , has expressed interest in building light-rail in the Persian Gulf.This was stated by CEO Yuri Nikolsson , RIA Novosti reported.He said the FTA missed the tender for participation in the first phase of the light-rail project in Kuwait , but is ready to compete for contracts in the second phase .Simultaneously, FTA intends to participate in yet another bid - for the construction of railways in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.The cost of this project is estimated at two billion dollars.Nikolsson noted that the company is likely to have already passed pre-qualified for the right project.Nikolsson concluded that the greatest prospects for an FTA abroad now occur in the countries of the Persian Gulf.Railways have already have several international projects.In particular , cooperation with Africa.In February two thousand and eight the state company reached an agreement with Algeria to build a commuter lines in the metropolitan area in the amount of zero.eight billion euros.Later, a monopoly contract with the then government of Libya for the construction of the railway Sirt - Benghazi worth two.two billion euros.That same year, Railways has signed an agreement with Iran on the electrification of the railway line , Tabriz Azarshahr ; project cost eight.eighty-five million euros.At the end of two thousand and eight, Russia , Ukraine and Slovakia have agreed to extend the railway line to broad gauge to Western Europe.The cost of this project was estimated at four.three billion dollars.In two thousand and eleven, the Railways has signed a Memorandum of Understanding which provides for the construction of the railway Rasht- Astara highway from Iran to Azerbaijan.Railways are now in talks to participate in the creation of the railway in Kenya.
